Learn about the fun and exciting attractions located in and around Santa Monica Pier this holiday season

What to Do at Santa Monica Pier

Dec 30, 2013

Whenever one thinks of Los Angeles, one only remembers Hollywood and Disneyland. There is much more Los Angeles can offer to coach bus visitors, and one of them is Santa Monica Pier. As a large double-jointed pier at the foot of Colorado Avenue, the Santa Monica Pier is a 100-year-old landmark with lots of attractions in its vicinity.

Visit the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium

Operated by non-profit organization Heal the Bay, the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium has educational programs, special events and activities dedicated to educating the public on marine conservation, environmental protection and pollution prevention.

Some of the exhibits at the aquarium that charter bus visitors would not want to miss are:

  • Shark / Ray Tank
  • Octopus Tank
  • 3 Touch Tanks
  • Crustacean Tank
  • Phylum Discovery Tank
  • Rocky Reef Tank
  • Pier Tank
  • Kelp Forest Tank
  • Sandy Bottom Tank

Open on Tuesdays to Fridays from 2pm - 5pm, and Saturdays and Sundays from 12.30pm to 5pm, and closed on Mondays.

The Admission-Free Pacific Park

Been to an oceanfront amusement park? If you have not, you should visit the Pacific Park, an amusement park that looks directly out on the Pacific Ocean, facing the Catalina Island. There are thirteen rides offered at the park, including the only solar powered Ferris Wheel in the world, and a roller coaster that circles around most of the park.

Admission into the park is free, although individual rides do charge a fee. Other than rides, mini bus rental visitors can enjoy midway games, food outlets and a spot of shopping.

Sun, Sand and Surf at Santa Monica Beach

Just adjacent to the pier lies the Santa Monica State Beach, a 3.5 miles long beach with parks, picnic areas, playgrounds, restrooms, bike rentals and much more. There is so much you can do at this beach, maybe some volleyball, surfing or even stand up paddleboarding; you will definitely not be bored.

So many things to do, and all just a stone throw away from each other. Since there would be many people at the Santa Monica Pier, why don’t instead of getting all stressed out about transport, crowds and parking, just call 310-361-6437 or 1-888-562-5182 for a coach bus?
